Snack ideas

  1. Try loading a few celery sticks with 1 tablespoon of any nut butter (almond, cashew, walnut).
  2. Edamame makes a great high-protein snack (one cup of beans yields 17g of protein!). Buy them fresh and steam for about 6 minutes, or use the pre-cooked frozen variety and briefly microwave to defrost (about 2 minutes) before chowing down.
  3. 1 medium apple, sliced, with 1 tablespoon natural peanut butter
  4. Hummus Dippers: Put 2 tablespoons of your favorite hummus in the bottom of the container, stick a handful of vegetable sticks (carrots, celery, and snow peas are a great mix) vertically in the hummus, screw on the top, and throw in a purse or gym bag for an easy, on-the-go, super-healthy snack.
  5. Hard-Boiled Eggs: Inexpensive and loaded with nutrients, eggs are one of the best ways to get a healthy dose of protein. Try hard boiling and pre-peeling a dozen at the start of the week and throw one in a small Tupperware container each day for an easy on-the-go snack.
  6. On the go? Grab a handful of almonds (10 or so) and enjoy alongside 1 cup of grapes.
  7. Toast one slice of whole-wheat bread and top with 2 scrambled egg whites. Sprinkle with a dash of pepper and paprika.
  8. Top a rice cake (we like the unsalted brown rice variety) with ¼ of an avocado, mashed. Sprinkle with cracked black pepper and paprika.
  9. Shake up 1 serving of Muscle GainTM with 1 cup of unsweetened almond milk.
  10. Top ½ cup low-fat or nonfat cottage cheese with ½ cup of your favorite fresh fruit.
  11. Mix 1 can of low-sodium tuna with 2 tablespoons of salsa. Serve by itself or use it as a dip with celery!
  12. Top ½ cup nonfat Greek yogurt with a handful of fruit (fresh or frozen) and a small drizzle of honey. Add 2 tablespoons of toasted oats for a protein-packed crunch!
  13. Craving something sweet? Try a baked apple! Core a tennis-ball sized apple, dust with cinnamon, and bake at 350 for 20 minutes (or until tender but not mushy).
  14. 1 cup of cubed cantaloupe and 1 low-fat string cheese
  15. Eggs aren't just for breakfast! Try 2 whole eggs scrambled with a handful of chopped onion, spinach, and bell peppers.
  16. Jicama is a root veggie that touts 6 grams of fiber per cup. Peel and slice up 1 ½ cups, and dip into a mixture of 1 tablespoon of Greek yogurt, 1 tablespoon of mustard, and 1 teaspoon of honey.
  17. Top ¼ cup nonfat yogurt with ½ cup old-fashioned oats and ½ cup fresh strawberries.
  18. Yes, you can have your ice cream and stay on track! Simply peel a few bananas, stick them in the freezer, and let them hang out for a few hours, or until solid. Put the frozen bananas in the bowl of a food processor, and process until smooth. Finally, add in your choice of mix-ins like peanut butter or fresh strawberries. One serving = 1 banana.
  19. Chow down on 10 baby carrots with 2 tablespoons of hummus.
  20. Craving something crunchy? Give Kale Chips a try! Preheat oven to 375. Rinse and dry 1 large bunch of kale, then remove the stems and tough center ribs. Rip the kale into large pieces, toss with a little olive oil, then sprinkle with some salt and pepper. Arrange in a single layer on a large parchment lined baking sheet (careful not to overlap). Bake until crisp, about 10 to 15 minutes, checking frequently (they can burn easily!).
  21. How about an open-faced turkey sandwich? Toast 1 slice of whole-wheat bread and spread with 1 teaspoon of honey mustard. Top with 2 slices of deli turkey.
  22. Slice up a cucumber & some cherry tomatoes – drizzle with a little bit of olive oil and top with fresh cracked pepper
  23. Mash ¼ of an avocado on a rice cake and top with salsa for a zesty treat!
  24. Combine ½ of a scoop of Muscle GainTM with ½ cup of nonfat greek yogurt – it's packed with protein and tastes delicious!

Meeting Needs!

I'm noticing lately that there are lots of people who have needs that aren't been met in the world today! So what i'm going to do is I'm going to be the change I want to see.

I can't say a lot but what I can say my friend and her family need 1000$ to meet their needs. No matter what they do they try and get ahead and something stops them from gaining that $1000.

Today is October 13, By December 13. Two Months from now.

All of my earnings in AdvoCare I'm going to give to her and her family for Christmas.

Who's with me?!

Healthy Habits

Maintaining good health habits is a secret of every happy man. There is an old saying that "Health is Wealth." If your health is good then you are good, if you are good then you can work properly, and if you can work properly then you get wealth.
  1. Talk with family and friends.
A daily dose of friendship is great medicine. People who know you want to know what's new in life!  People want to hear your joys, disappointments, dreams, and failures. People want to know you! Too much time online can not only have negative effects on the eyes, but studies have shown that Internet addiction may impair cognitive function in adolescents. So unplug and go outside and walk around a park with the ones you love. If you open up to them instead of a laptop,  then you'll find that they have much more in common then you realize.
  2. Protect your skin.
If you make a habit of layering on the SPF when you're young, your skin will thank you for it years down the road. Skip the tanning bed and liberally apply the sunblock when you know you'll be out on the beach all day, or even just out in the sun for 30 minutes. It only takes a few minutes, and dramatically decreases your risk of developing skin cancer -- your skin will also age better if you take measures to protect it while you're still young.
  3. Engage in daily physical activity. Regular physical activity can relieve mental and physical tension. Physical activity can be a great source of pleasure, too. Get into the habit young so that you can learn to love running, swimming, biking or whatever physical activity you enjoy most-- for your whole life. Physically active adults have lower risk of depression and loss of mental functioning. Regular cardiovascular exercise can help maintain healthy weight, decrease stress, boost mood and energy, can prevent diseases, and promotes better sleep quality, among other advantages. Like eating vegetables, the health benefits of exercise are practically endless.
  4. Limit sugar intake.
Many scientists have argued that sugar is as toxic, and it's difficult to ignore the mounting evidence of the negative effects excess sugar can have on the body. Skip the soda and eat sugary snacks and desserts in moderation to ward off diabetes and prevent inflammation that can lead to chronic diseases.
  5. Eat breakfast.
They say that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and for good reason -- eating a healthy meal in the morning can jump-start your metabolism and help with weight management. Having a good mix of protein, fat and carbs in the morning can also help you focus in your early classes. Make a point of eating breakfast every single morning -- and no, a cup of coffee doesn't count!
  6. Remember to laugh.
Laughter makes us feel good. Don't be afraid to laugh out loud at a joke, a funny movie or a comic strip, even when we're alone.
  7. Give up the bad habits.
Too much alcohol, cigarettes or caffeine can increase blood pressure. If you smoke, decide to quit now. If you do drink alcohol, do so in moderation.
  8. Slow down.
Try to "pace" instead of "race." Plan ahead and allow enough time to get the most important things done without having to rush.
  9. Get enough sleep.
Stress doesn't just take the joy out of life -- it can also harm your health. Chronic worrying can play a role in skin problems (hello, exam-time breakouts), depression, insomnia, asthma, heart problems, digestive issues, and more. Do yourself a BIG favor now and get into the habit of taking time to chill out, whether it's 30 seconds of deep breathing, an hour of yoga, or a day to yourself to do nothing but relax.
  10. Floss regularly.
Sure, you brush your teeth when you wake up and before bed, but do you take the time to floss? We know your dentist always bugs you about flossing, but it's for good reason. Taking just one or two minutes every night to floss can make a huge difference in your oral health down the road -- it enhances the positive effects of brushing your teeth, and prevents gum diseases like gingivitis.
  11. Get organized.
Use "to do" lists to help you focus on your most important tasks. Approach big tasks one step at a time. For example, start by organizing just one part of your life — your car, desk, kitchen, closet, cupboard or drawer.
  12. Practice giving back.
Volunteer your time or spend time helping out a friend. Helping others helps you.
  13. Try not to worry.
The world won't end if your grass isn't mowed or your kitchen isn't cleaned. You may need to do these things, but right now might not be the right time.
  14. Drink water.
Another thing you've been told a million times: Drink eight glasses of water each day. Although it may not seem like a big deal, staying hydrated can promote proper kidney functioning, improve the appearance of your skin, and energize tired muscles. Carry around a large refillable bottle in your back band so you always have some on hand!
